Mike Rianda and Jeff Rowe's Sony Pictures Animation feature, produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, pairs a hand-painted visual style adapted from Into the Spider-Verse's animation technology with a script built from Rianda's own family history and childhood fascination with robots.
