Mafioso
A Sicilian factory manager returns home to Sicily with his northern wife, only to be quietly recruited by the local don to carry out a hit in New York. He completes the task and resumes his life in Milan as if nothing happened. Directed by Alberto Lattuada in 1962, Mafioso uses deadpan realism and structural irony to examine complicity, continuity, and the banality of organised power.
