David Fincher's 1999 adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel follows an unnamed, insomniac office worker who starts an underground bare-knuckle club with a charismatic soap-maker, Tyler Durden, only for the club to grow into something far more dangerous. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt lead a film built around a structural twist Fincher fought to keep, on a 63 million dollar budget that returned a modest sum before turning, on home video, into one of the decade's defining cult titles.

David Fincher directs Aaron Sorkin's script, based loosely on Ben Mezrich's book, with Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg and a score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross that treats a founding myth as something closer to a thriller.
